CALEB, DON’T DENY IT
Contrary to popular belief.
One night, Sunday evening to be exact, Sonas, Asterisque, Siren, Chaos, and Kirby had convened in Tea Town Park. It had been a while since they’d seen their phantom teammate Chaos and crime had surprisingly been on the downlow.
That is, until they ran into Robert Sol. He might have passed by without raising suspicion, if not for the tell-tale bloodsplatter on his clothes. He tried to play it off, but unfortunately the girls were keen on his schemes, and he was forced to outright attack them for being witnesses to a recent kill he’d made. Upon attacking Chaos and discovering his regenerative abilities, as well as Kirb’s control on wind, he came to the conclusion that these kids weren’t just suited up early for Halloween but legitimate superheroes.
Which was just as unfortunate, seeing as to Rob, they were the prime grade game he needed for his mission. A mission that breathed life into him just as he’d surrendered to his fate on death row. He escaped and struck a deal. For his a beloved’s soul, he’d have to exchange it for 100 average citizens…or 7 super-charged ones. The likes of Superman and Batman seemed far too intimidating for a hardy, yet ordinary convict, like himself, and he deigned to having to settle for bloodying his hands with the life force of 100 regular innocents. He was resourceful, but he wasn’t invincible. It’s not until he found himself traipsing into Tea Town that evening into these unsuspecting heroes that the idea formed that maybe he might just have a chance.
He managed to slip away with three of their “lives” under his belt: Siren, Kirby, and Asterisque. The finer points of the ritual were beyond him: all he knew was if he drenched the newly-acquired brand on his left hand with their blood, it sealed them a part into his ritual. The team, in the meantime, did not suspect he was more than some sociopath that they should probably take care of. They had a team meeting, and although there were something suspicious about the nature of his attack and his actual identity, they didn’t linger too long on it.
It wasn’t until the week continued that the first three victims started to show side effects from their attack: general irritability, power fluctuation, fatique, and thoughts of self-inflicted harm.
Rob disappeared off their radar for a few days, only to suddenly resurface just as Warcry, Rewind, and Plasmaster were about to patrol as a group. Warcry was incapacitated as he was waiting for his teammates and was marked. Rewind’s powers proved to be a hindrance to Robert’s ordinary physiology. Sol barely managed to outwit and strike at Plasmaster before calling a hasty retreat once again. The victim tally had risen to five.
By now, Sonas and their newest member, Kid Sonic, had uncovered some more information to the identity of Robert Sol.
His last attack occured on Friday night. Contour and Accent had just gone on patrol, when Sol tried to lure and outwit them into an ambush. Unfortunately, Accent’s power proved to be a boon and Sol was forced to employ brute force once again. He managed to quickly strike at Accent and Contour and mark both of them before Surge showed up. He barely managed to survive and escape Surge’s assault and electric attacks. This brought the number of “casualties” to seven.
Saturday, under a week from their first encounter, and the pieces have begun to fall into place. Plasmaster and Rewind manage to decipher the meaning behind the tattoo that Sol smothered in blood during each encounter, although its actual usage still eludes them. The side effects have gotten worse, and while Rewind attempts to rally the team to take action before something terrible happens, many of the team remain adamant and skeptical. It’s not until the victims begin to hear the call of death do they find the location of Sol’s final ritual. So close to the core, the summoning circle, the victims are rendered unfit for battle. Those unaffected: Sonas, Rewind, and Infinite, find themselves engaged in combat with backup provided by Sol’s demon sponsor. Plasmaster sees a vision of his brother as he gets closer to death while Sonas tries to keep him rooted in the world of the living. Wading through the battle, Rewind tries to reason with Sol, only to get personally involved. During their heated fight and argument, Rewind manages to steal his knife and cut the tattoo on Sol’s hand, cutting communication between him and the demon and thus slowly undoing the curse that befell his team mates. Furious, Sol tackles and gets him in a stranglehold. Rewind, in turn, counters by rewinding him back to relive his wife’s death…once again.
As of now, Rewind and Sol have disappeared. The rest of the team has been left to recover.
idk if I’ll finish the whole thing so here’s a wip of something for an RP I’m at
Oops sorry everyone, ruining everything.
